Jodi of Two crazy Punjabans

Once upon a time, two girls met at a bus stop. Same nodal point, same timings, living in the same neighbourhood- friendship struck up in an instance.

The coach journey became all more meaningful and joyful with lots of gossips, stories, sharing lunch, watching movies, applying nail paints, disturbing each other while one was asleep. Both were driven with the passion of clicking selfies every now n then. They were the stress busters for each other and were together through thick n thin.

Their journey has always been full of laughter and the fights; the tea breaks and the ice; lending an ear and being the partners in crime. And this beautiful journey continues...

Ik khwaaish..

Rooh ko choo gaya tera ehsaas, Raas aa gaya tera mizaz...

Hai thoda naadan, thoda samjhdar, kabi kabi lagta tu mera hi avtaar...

Bht parakh ke banaye dost hain, unme khaas ek tu bhi hai..

Chahat hai dil ki tu sang rahe hamesha, Mere haatho me to nai hai, par taqdeer se yahi guzaarish hai..

God exists in every living being. . .

We go to temples, worship the idols, bathing them with milk, honey, curd, water, showering fresh flowers and with this we all believe that we have made God happy. We give exchange offers to God; God please let my exam get cleared and i will keep fasts, will come barefoot to temple, will bathe you with 1 ltr milk, will offer 50kg ladoos in the temple, will offer a gold coin….

Do you think, we can buy God’s grace by the materialistic things? Do you think this is why He has created us? We are blinded by the shine of our wealth….we believe that rich people have more God’s grace as they can afford more donations which will make God happy.

We are in a “habit” of believing all that exists physically and that’s why we worship idols. We touch their feet, stick vermilion to them, and offer currencies according to our status. We want God to exist physically; whom we can see and worship. We are addicted to the sightedness of our eyes. We believe only what is visible to us.

Its good that you keep fast (fasting a day in a week improves your metabolism). But offer that day’s meal to someone in need. You bathe idols with litres of milk which drown in the sewage. Instead offer some portion to a dog/cat which will satisfy its hunger. It would give more reward than draining the milk in sewer.  Offer a part of your generosity and not the wealth. A morsel of food given to a hungry person would be more generous than throwing it in the bin. Sharing your love and care with a child who is deprived of it, would give long lasting satisfaction to your soul than giving a 10Rs note to the same child who would foolishly spend it on his momentary pleasures.

God exists in oneself. Worship your body, keep it clean. Do not spoil the divine gift (your birth) with the maliciousness of the society. Do not be God-fearing and get entangled in the business of religion. Some impostors encash your fears in the name of religion. They demand donations in the name of yagnas/poojas to solve your problems, to caste away evil from your life. But this is all rubbish. When you face adversity in your life, you tend to lose control over your mind. Your fear starts overpowering your conscious. This fear makes you weak and prone to every religious solution that is offered to you. Stay calm and believe in your God. He would never be happy in spoiling your life. You are His child. Believe in Him.

Get the God’s grace through meditation. You have to sit alone for some time and try to connect to your soul. The God is inside you. No one can hold your finger and take you to Him. You have to cover this distance yourself. Once you enter the God’s arena, you will be mesmerised by His magical world. You will learn self-actualisation. You will be able to define the purpose of your life. You will get the “true wisdom”!!

P.S- “I am not against Hindu religion or any religion for that matter. What I believe is, every religion is equal and states one thing that God exists in every living being.”

Ahankaar(Ego)

Moothi ret ki bhar

Ithlata chala musafir

Samajh khudko sabka malik

Badta chala ik aur

Nai maloom thi

Fitrat duniya ki usey

Fasta chala gya

Duniya ke chakravyooh me

Moothi khol dekha jab usne

Haw- bhav kho gye uske

Kaise Raja se bhikhari ho gaya

Ahem uska Jad se mit gya !!

TREASURE HUNT

Keep walking;

Rumbling stones will deter your path
Hidden thorns will take you apart

Beneath is a turbulent force

More you struggle
Deeper you are caught

Ulterior dangers
Adorn your quest

Act smartly and
Make your path

For there is no reverse step
But it will take you in dark

Nearer you reach
Better you feel

Lust of the hoarded
When revealed!!

Domestic Violence (Satyamev Jayate)

The root cause of domestic violence is patriarchy; a system which considers women to be a weaker section.  We always raise our hands on those who are lower to us in grade or who are weaker. One can never raise his hand on his superiors or on stronger persons. In our tradition, we call our husband “swami” which means owner. It signifies that the other person will be his slave. And that is how a wife is treated as a slave; who has to follow all what his hubby says. If it doesn’t happen then she is punished which in other words, is called domestic violence.

This dominance has a very bad impact on the children. Their behaviour reaches extreme ends. Struck with live violent acts, they can become quiet forever; be isolated and stick to their inner self. Secondly, they can become violent and start loathing their father for his misdeeds. Both stages are a sign of extreme trauma in children’ lives. It may hamper their growth. It will affect them psychologically and make them retarded in their thinking.

Patriarchy dehumanises men.  It takes away their emotions. Superiority or feeling of dominance makes them wild. But why does a woman keeps her silence even after being treated brutally?? Because, our society has taught us that patriarchy is the only way that we know and that we follow. Going against the standard patterns will challenge the masculinity and they become violent. Some men claim that they come home tiringly after working for the whole day and that tiredness comes out in a slap or two on our wives and that too for no reason.  They say that since they are bread earners for the family, it is their “right” to dominate their wife. But they forget that a family runs not on money but on the unconditional love and care of parents. Mother does not feed rupees to her children; she makes food and feed them. She does not let her children sleep on a pile of notes, rather she makes them sleep on a bed. Thus a man and a woman "working together" can only run a family.   Secondly it is the effort of a woman which makes a man ready for work the next day. He comes home, he is dead tired. He might have a bad day in office; got scolding and all. But when he comes home, it is his wife who channelizes all her efforts to let her husband regain his power and self-esteem. And how does she do it? She serves him delicious dinner, loves him, calms his anger and entertains him. The next day, she prepares breakfast, iron his clothes, and polishes his shoes and then that executive or that labour goes to his work.
A woman should dare to come out of the distress and raise her voice. At times, women back out because they are afraid of living alone with their kids. They hide their fear, insecurity, timidity in the name of their kids. They should rather make their will-power stronger and raise their voice. Because when a woman suffers, our nation suffers.
Equality is the antonym of patriarchy.  When you have equality in your life only then would there be true love. When parents live happily together only then their son will become a human and not devil (daanav nahi manav).

Baarish

And It Touched My Soul. . .

I Came Out
To Cherish The Beautiful Weather,
The Chilly Breeze
Landed a Kiss On My Cheek,
My Hands Got Froze
Turned Blue,
Sending Shivers Down My spine
The Weather Was All Its New,
Numbness Turned On Me
But the Growling Weather
Made Me Forget Everything,
I Came Back Inside. .
Sitting In A Balmy Chair
The Steamy Soup
Kissed My Lips,
Enjoying The Lingering Taste
My Eyes Were Closed,
The Chilly Day Ended
In The Warmth Of Quilt. . .
Adieu !!
